Wordless{ish} Wednesday :: Poor Neglected Blog

I'm sorry for neglecting you blog, I have lots of things that I want to post about.  Tons of ideas that run through my head, however nothing makes it further than a draft.  So here is an actual published post, with the help of Instragram since I'm being too lazy to find my camera and upload real photos

Top Five Saturday Laughs 5.19.12

I am thankful for the weekend, but my weekend doesn't start until noon since I have to work Saturday morning.  Thankfully, the girls will get to stay home and play with their daddy.  I know Claire is excited since we were talking before bed about all the fun things they are going to do together.

I hope everyone has as beautiful weather as we have forecasted for this weekend, I am so excited to play outside with the girls :-)

5.  Natalie is rather edgy when she doesn't get her way immediately.  She often complains with a scowel on her face.  Apparently, we have to go and "get some patience at the baby store" for Natalie since she doesn't have any according to Claire.  I asked Claire if we needed to get her some too ;)

4.  Claire and Natalie were watching Snow White in the car.  At one point the animals and dwarfs were running through the forest and Dopey fell off the deer.  This struck Claire as funny and she started belly laughing.  This made Natalie erupt with laughter.  Pretty soon, Claire stopped laughing but Natalie kept laughing trying to get Claire to join in.

3.  I have blogged about Natalie's obsession with shoes before.  I brought a new pair of shoes home tonight for her and she was insistent that she needed them on immediately.  After her bath, she needed the shoes back on with her footie pajamas.

2.  Ryan has always thrown the girls around.  He tosses them ridiculously high in the air.  I am so accustomed to it that it hardly fazes me anymore.  Ryan's mom stopped over tonight, and she couldn't watch as Ryan threw Claire around.  It seriously freaks her (and everyone else who ever sees it) out!  She told Ryan that he had to stop.  Of course Claire didn't agree with that idea.  She sat on Grandma's lap and told her that it was ok and she needed to be brave when she was thrown next.

1.  We watch WordGirl occasionally in our house.  There is a dance that the sidekick, Captain Huggypants, does at the end of the show.  I used to move Claire's arms to the motions, but she has graduated to doing the dance herself.  I will let you see how funny it really is in the video.

Remember to laugh lots with the other blogs from Melissa and The Mommyhood Chronicles!

Top Five Saturday Laughs 5.12.12

Happy Weekend!  We had a very fun and busy one.  Our weekend started early as Ryan and I both had the day off Friday.  We were blessed to attend the wedding of two of our 'kids' from youth group.  What a fun night!!  Saturday we celebrated my dad's birthday and mother's day with my mom and sister.  I went out with my best friend to a bachelorette party that night.  Today we had another mother's day celebration with Ryan's mom and sister.  Lots of family, friends and food :)

I have to admit that the past few weeks I have been slacking on writing down my laughs.  It's not that funny things aren't happening, I am just not very diligent at writing them down.  Add in mommy brain, and I sit here trying to recollect these funny events from the past week.

5.  On Friday I scheduled a much needed hair appointment.  I took Claire with me to the appointment since she loves to play with my hairdressers doll house.  I had gotten the foil in for my highlights and my hairdresser had begun to put the dye through the rest of my hair.  Claire looks over from the dollhouse and exclaims, "You look beautiful Mommy!"  I guess my hair was REALLY bad beforehand since that look was an improvement :)

4. Natalie has started a new habit of puckering her lips after bites of food or drink.  She doesn't do it every time, but it really is hysterical.  I hope to capture it in a photo, however it is very brief. She knows it's funny and continues to do it for the reaction, so much personality coming from that little girl these days.

3.  Ryan was fixing the girls dinner and asked Claire what color plate she wanted to avoid the meltdown of giving her the wrong color plate (the drama I know!).  Ryan insists he said the correct colors that he was holding as options.  I hear Claire say, "I will have the GREEN plate Daddy, not blue, you don't even know your colors!"  I died laughing, seriously.  I had tears rolling down my face since I have said the same thing for a long time ;)

2.  I was getting Claire dressed one morning and I heard Natalie in the kitchen playing in the pantry.  The next thing I know, Natalie comes toddling over with a bag of animal crackers.  Needless to say, she was hungry and decided to get herself breakfast.  Yes, she did eat animal crackers for breakfast that day.

1. This laugh also happened at the hairdresser's house on Friday.  There is one doll whose arm has broken off.  Claire was pretending that this was the mommy doll.  There was also a big sister and baby doll.  I hear Claire (being the mommy), "I'm sorry baby, your sister will have to hold you, I only have one arm."

Happy Mother's Day to all of you awesome mommies out there :)

Top Five Saturday Laughs 5.5.12

I slacked off this week in writing down the funny things that happened in our house.  I know we had more than these five I wrote down, so I can't promise these are actually the top five since they're the only five that I actually wrote down!

5.  Natalie was attempting to get a toy out of the toybox at Ryan's mom's house.  This is how we found her.

4.  This story came via Ms. Cynthia, the girls daycare provider.  Her children had gotten home from school and playing with the daycare kids.  At one point, Claire told one of the daughters that 'her mom was crazy'.  Apparently everyone thought that was pretty funny!!

3.  The girls both tried sweet gherkin pickles this week at daycare.  Claire took one bite, looked like she was going to burst into tears and wanted NO more.  Natalie on the other hand, loved them and couldn't get enough.  Yet another example of my very different girls.

2.  We were visiting my mom's and Claire was eating an apple.  My mom asked Claire if she could have an "itsy-bitsy piece"  Claire looked puzzled and replied, it's an apple Grandma - not peas!  HA!

1.  My favorite laugh has actually happened multiple times this week.  Natalie finds it hysterical to share her food with her sister.  Typically Natalie takes a bite from a ritz cracker then offers her sister a bite.  Claire is so gentle to take a small bite and never bite her sister, but Natalie cracks up.  This then leads to tons and tons of giggling from all of us.

I love that my kids are getting old enough to truly interact together!  I am trying to soak up all these great memories and hold them dear in my heart because I know all too soon they will be few and far between.

Happy weekend!!
