I can't believe that she's 5 months old. I truly believe that the second time around goes by WAY faster than the first. Here are some of the milestones 'little sister' has achieved:
- Tries to sit up in EVERYTHING, and can sit unassisted for very short periods of time
- She insists on being carried facing outward and therefore spends lots of time in the bjourn.
- She's eating rice cereal, not totally grasping the concept that the spoon isn't for sucking though
- She is playing peek-a-boo with either her clothes or burp cloths, taking and putting them over her face then giggling when she takes them down.
- Prefers to stand over anything else (thank goodness for Jumperoo's!)
- Absolutely must be in the same room with someone, will not tolerate being in a room by herself for very long!
Other milestones:
- She's becoming very mobile, which makes me realize how un-baby-proofed our house has become with a toddler on the loose. She is rolling and scooting in attempts to get to whatever she wants - thankfully we're all still faster than she is, for the time being!
- Completely obsessed with electronics - cell phones and remotes top the list
- Kisses on her cheeks and forehead are a sure fire way to get her to smile and giggle
- Said "Da Da" when she saw Ryan one day
- Looked at Molly (our dog) and made the "dg" sound
- Squeals in delight when I pick her up from daycare.
- Is often distracted by her surroundings when it is time to eat.
Milestones that I wish she would reach:
- Sleeping through the night. She's still struggling with getting up at 4 am to eat, but legitimately seems hungry and goes back to sleep right after.
Such a cutie!
